Summary:
With some of the largest Internet Service Providers as our customers,
Synacor is the country's leading provider of premium service delivery
platforms and private-label portals that enable ISPs to easily bundle a
wide variety of free and subscription-only value-added services into their
Internet offering. We are seeking experienced, well-rounded and creative
Internet professionals to join our growing Buffalo team of over a hundred
like-minded individuals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
•	Development, documentation, and maintenance of cutting edge
web-based applications in our portal and premium service platforms. 
•	Development of scripts to integrate third-party applications, data,
and multimedia content into Synacor’s databases
•	Deployment of client sites, including custom development and
integration with our customers’ diverse billing and provisioning systems. 
•	Providing technical consultation and expertise to Product Managers
and other Synacor staff members. 
•	Writing technical and non-technical specifications, as well as
procedural documentation.
•	Reviewing Product requirement documents as well as participating in
integration calls with our partners.

Required skills:
•	Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field 
•	Minimum three years experience in software or website development;
proven experience developing large-scale database-driven applications 
•	Strong writing and documentation skills 
•	Extensive professional experience programming PERL 
•	Experience with HTML, and JavaScript client-side scripting 
•	Professional experience with MySQL or equivalent 
•	Proficient in Unix/Linux use, scripting and tools 
•	Knowledge of XML and SOAP highly desirable 
•	Familiarity with revision control software 
•	Excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate

Desired skills:
Experience working with online video, particularly video rippers, a plus
