Description:
Position is for developer within one of our Client's group. The team is
part of Company IT and is responsible for the development and support of
Management Decision Support Systems with wide range of users including
senior IT and BU managers. The space is receiving increasing focus along
with increased demand for technical sophistication. Candidate will play a
key role in meeting these demands by playing a variety of roles in a
project lifecycle. The team is a small team that owns and supports many
proprietary systems including for several different business lines, Project
Tracking Tools. The group has an extensive and diverse client base
including but not limited to all of IT & Company IT, Finance, Operations,
Equity, IBD, Prime Brokerage and Corporate Services.

The developer shall be responsible for:
- Providing technical expertise/leadership to improve the product suite
(e.g. improving data distribution/data access/data analysis and reporting).
May involve adopting new tools & techniques. 
- Support – providing both technical support and user support for existing
products, processes and services. 
- Infrastructure Management – ensuring infrastructure remains up to date,
is properly configured to meet needs, and responding to changes initiated
by Enterprise Infrastructure.
- Business Analysis & Project Management – meeting with users to elicit and
document their requirements, produce work estimates and time lines. Create
test plans and implementation plans.  

Required skills:
- Advanced Perl, CGI, Javascript, HTML, XML, XSL.
- Business Analysis skills ideally.
- Unix/Linux.
- Sybase (or enterprise wide RDBMS).
- Self-motivated, well organized, enthusiastic and a quick learner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good design and technical skills.
- Innovative with product analysis and design.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills.

Desired skills:
- Microsoft Analytical Services OLAP Cube & Pro-clarity (viewer).
- Informatica (ETL tool) or equivalent tool experience.
- Business Objects (Report creation tool).
- Messaging (e.g. SOAP) and making applications “web services” enabled 

Desired Professional Skills: 
- Reporting experience - creation (daily, monthly, on demand etc) and
distribution.
- Data modeling expertise (logical & physical), Erwin data modeling tool.
- Data warehousing expertise.
