Description:
The qualified candidate will report directly to the Senior Programmer /
Project Manager and will be a primary development asset for a tax
processing project. The position will require you to work both autonomously
and with others, training and working within a small, friendly team. Three
to five years of Perl development experience are required. Experience in
building web related applications using Perl is a must. OO skills are also
needed (especially in Perl, but C/C++/Delphi works too) The candidate needs
to come in and write solid code, participate in design and code reviews,
and generally do what they do best. The candidate will also have a track
record of maintaining their code with meaningful comments and keeping
well-written documentation. 


Required skills:
Strong Perl skills 
Experienced in database design and SQL 
Good knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS and Javascript 
Good knowledge of web standards 


Desired skills:
Knowledge of XML, XSD and XSLT 
Experience developing web applications 
Experience with server-side scripting (ASP, PHP) 
Experience developing large community websites 
Knowledge of payroll software, payroll processing and payroll taxation 
Knowledge of technical writing (user documentation, help systems, etc) 
Experience in system administration (Windows) 
Good skills in using CVS, Subversion, RCS, or similar version control
system
