Given a set of requirements, and within the guidelines provided by a software team leader, the person in this position is responsible for reviewing the requirements, designing, estimating, implementing, testing and deploying software components. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Person must be able to thrive in a complex environment. The successful candidate will be someone who: is able to be highly connected with his/her teammates seeks input to things unknown is very pragmatic with solving customer challenges and issues, is an all around team player We are seeking a person who is an expert in either JAVA or PERL and be open and willing to learn the one he/she is not an expert in. The right candidate will be good with databases, creating queries and able to handle large databases with issues. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Java or PERL SQL TECHNICAL SKILLS HIGHLY DESIRED: AJAX PL/SQL Oracle and Linux PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Strong object oriented design and programming skills in Java or Perl, including understanding and use of design patterns. Strong relational database skills (data modeling, writing SQL statements and stored procedures, understanding performance and capacity issues, etc). Demonstrated understanding of N-Tiered architectures for Internet-based applications.
