Posted: November 7, 2006 Job title: Systems Manager for Library Automaton Network Company name: Old Colony LIbrayr Network Location: United States, MA, Braintree Pay rate: 45K - 75K Travel: 0-25% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: This newly created position will serve under the direction of the Executive Director and will supervise 1.5 fte. As the Systems Manager, you will be responsible for: Managing the Unix servers and the telecommunications network and office LAN, including testing and installing OS and application upgrades and patches. Participating in the selection of systems hardware and coordinating installations and upgrades. Using PERL and other tools to develop custom information management reports and routines to transfer data between systems. Managing the Helpdesk and providing technical support to library staff Working with member libraries to advise them on new technologies. Required skills: PERL, experience with Linux / Unix administration. Experience managing network services, including sendmail and firewalls. Experience with managing a Windows LAN environment.
