Description:
VideoEgg is creating an exciting new online video platform that pushes the
limits of flash and flash video. Driving all of this is a robust and
flexible backend system that tracks, optimizes and supports integration of
3rd party applications. As an architect on our team, you’ll help invent the
infrastructure and interfaces to support the deployment of social
networking features and innovative advertising messaging. You will join a
talented team of software, web and media veterans from companies such as
Avid, Macromedia, ATI, Organic and Yahoo!

VideoEgg is looking for an exceptional candidate that thrives in a startup
environment and has strong technical skills with to detail. The right
candidate will work in an exciting and dynamic market and must be able to
thrive in a high energy, fast paced and fun startup.

Responsibilities

    * Assume a lead role within an experienced web development team.
    * Develop technical specifications and architecture for their web-based
media platform.
    * Expand capabilities around media interaction, discovery and ad
services.
    * Work with clients and vendors in developing and implementing web
service interfaces in support of their media platform.


Required skills:
Requirements

    * Experience in developing highly reliable, highly scalable web
applications
    * Expert knowledge of Perl or PHP, MySQL, Javascript , HTML, CSS and
Python or Ruby or both
    * Linux and Apache system administration skills
    * Oracle database experience a plus
    * Strong quantitative and analytical skills
    * Strong skill set in object-oriented design
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to
communicate effectively with co-workers, partners and clients
    * Practitioner of professional software development processes,
including specification definition, task estimation, test plan development,
and documentation
    * Bachelor’s degree in computer science
    * 5+ years of experience in web application development
    * 3+ years of experience in a team leadership role
