Description:
Six Apart, the company behind LiveJournal, Movable Type, TypePad and Vox,
is looking for a Software Engineer to lead the technical aspects of Six
Apart’s advertising efforts across all its product lines, which include two
of the most highly trafficked sites on the internet.  If you thrive in fast
paced environments, working on a talented team, and love experimentation
and tweaking, and have the patience to achieve greatness one step at a
time, this might be the ideal job for you.  

You will create and maintain an ad serving infrastructure, analyze the
performance of various types of campaigns and optimize revenues from
advertising.  You will also define the approval processes for advertising
campaigns and work cross-functionally to review and approve campaigns. 

Responsibilities

•	Design, deploy and maintain Six Apart’s ad serving infrastructure.
•	Develop A/B testing protocols and continuously improve ad revenues.

•	Write/deploy web-based reporting tools allowing access to and
analysis of advertising campaigns.
•	Provide regular reports to company stakeholders.


Required skills:
•	3+ years of experience in software engineering
•	BS/CS or equivalent
•	Good understanding of statistics
•	Strong programming skills with experience writing high-volume web
applications and a good working knowledge of SQL
•	Experience with Perl, data analysis, security considerations and/or
advertising server software preferred
•	Strong verbal and written communication skills
•	An appreciation of business requirements, and the ability to work
collaboratively with non-engineers to solve business problems
•	Detail-oriented and highly attentive to commitments and schedules
