Description:
Semantico are a successful software development company creating
award-winning websites and products for multi-national publishers. The
company offices are located in the vibrant centre of Brighton.

As an expanding company, we are looking to recruit staff members for
exciting roles including experienced Web Software Developers. The role
involves the full life-cycle of software development from new projects to
maintenance and updates.

We are currently recruiting a Perl Software Engineer with experience in
developing web applications using Perl.

Required skills:
The successful candidate will have the following key skills:

    * Excellent software development skills including design, programming,
testing and maintenance
    * Good communication skills in written and spoken English
    * Ability to work well in a team or alone
    * Desire to learn new skills and keep up with technologies
    * Web development skills
    * Object Oriented Perl 5 programming


Desired skills:
Experience in the following Perl technologies would be useful:

    * HTML::Mason
    * DBI and/or Class::DBI
    * Apache / mod_perl
    * Perl Unit testing (Test::*)

Knowledge of the following core technologies would also be beneficial:

    * HTML/CSS/JavaScript
    * SQL Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite, etc.)
    * XML / XSLT / XPath and XQuery / XML Databases
    * Linux / Unix environment
    * Version control with Subversion, CVS or similar systems
    * Java web developement
