Posted: November 27, 2006 Job title: Perl Developer w/OpenSource tools Company name: Vonage Location: United States, New Jersey, Holmdel Pay rate: 60-90K USA Travel: 0% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: We are looking for talented, energetic and enthusiastic individual who can utilize their knowledge and experience to help us develop software solutions that will maintain, enhance and monitor the Vonage production network. The Operations Support Systems group develops customized tools to support the Network Operations Center, Customer Care Center and other engineering and operations groups. The development environment includes object oriented development in Perl and Java, web based front-ends (HTML templates, CSS, JavaScript ) and back-end relational databases. the ideal candidates will be capable of understanding both formal and informal requirements received from other internal organizations and be responsible for the design, development and testing of software solutions that solve the business problems identified. Required skills: 2-8 years of experience Direct experience with several of the following items: HP OpenView, MRTG, SNMP, RANCID, Oracle, mySQL, Java/JSP, Ruby, Perl, Python, Apache, LIGHTTPD, PHP, ColdFusion, AJAX SQL Skills Direct experience with web development writing, listening, and communication skills Fluent with UNIX Understanding of TCP/IP networking Critical thinking skills Desired skills: Desired skills: Database design skills Advanced SQL knowledge Understanding/experience of buy-vs-build decisions Understanding of VoIP technology Ability to support and defend technology opinions Web Server administration Familiarity with open-source tools URL for more information: http://www.vonage.com/ Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/4729#contact
