Sr. Programmer -- Computershare Document Services
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing professional programming services to
internal/external clients coupled with the efficient and effective
fulfillment of client requirements by performing the duties documented
below.	In addition, the Sr. Programmer assumes a leadership role in
defining and implementing leading-edge technical solutions within the
Computershare Technical Services business environment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned. 
•	Provides professional programming services to clients and develops
and maintains competencies in PERL programming, data analysis, testing and
debugging, and effective programming techniques.
•	Regularly provides technical expertise associated with PERL, VB and
related client/server or web programming languages/tools/platforms to staff
Programmers.  Viewed as an expert in more than one of these topics by their
peers and team management.
•	Incorporates industry and product specific knowledge coupled with
an understanding of operational functionality, plans the most effective and
efficient method of fulfilling customer requirements.
•	Ensures all information presented to internal and external clients
is clear and succinct.
•	Regularly develops long-term relationships between the department
and its clients, through relationship management skills.
•	Provides accurate information regarding the timeliness of
completion of tasks demonstrating time management and self-management
techniques including and meeting deadlines.
•	Assists in the development of future services and solutions by
embracing and adjusting to changes and new challenges as they arise.
•	Regularly makes suggestions for improvements in approach,
consistency, reusability, quality, documentation style, completeness, and
development methodology to the Business Support and Implementation Manager.
 Works closely with management in developing and implementing technology
strategies to improve and move forward the overall CDS operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

•	Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and
a minimum of three to five years coding skills experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•	PERL, XML, Microsoft platform - web development experience 5-7
years.	Full project life cycle experience required.  Prior experience
working in client communications (print and electronic) environment a must.
