Posted: December 1, 2006 Job title: Perl Developer for service delivery automation Company name: Cisco Systems India Private Limited Location: India, Karnataka, Bangalore Pay rate: very competitive Travel: 0-25% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: As an IT engineer in our team, you will develop new systems and enhance/re-architect existing systems for network management, IP telephony automation, application security (authc/authz) automation and service delivery. You will also perform architectural design and integration for complex, cross-functional systems and will assist with tool selection and strategic direction (buy vs. build) of tools, systems and software packages. Even as you develop into a senior lead in our team, you will continue to perform design, coding and implementation. Our architects do not sit in an ivory tower. You need to be a self starter who works well with minimal direction toward daily goals and objectives. You need to take the initiative to ''get things done''. You are able to coordinate and execute plans independently, and your work is reviewed and measured based on attainment of overall objectives of department. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required skills: Critical Skills: Strong Perl application development Object oriented perl Module usage and creation (e.g. DBI, Net-SNMP) XML and text parsing HTTP and CGI protocols Transactional database-driven designs using Oracle DBMS Good experience with Linux systems (e.g. daemons, cronjobs) Some Oracle PL/SQL programming Webservices (SOAP, XML-RPC, WSDL) Aptitude, proactive attitude and future potential (no slackers, please) Willingness to learn new things, ability to teach others Strong skills in working with a global virtual team.
