Description:
Join the team responsible for the operation of Yahoo!'s search monetization
engine. You will contribute to both the administration of thousands of
Linux machines as well as the development of tools that automate their
deployment, management and monitoring. The ideal candidate has strong Perl
programming skills as well as an extensive background in large-scale system
administration.

Responsibilities:

* Administer Linux clusters, monitor their health and performance
* Utilize and extend a large library of Perl code responsible for the
automation, monitoring, etc. of thousands of Linux machines 
* Document both newly developed and pre-existing tools/libraries as well as
operational procedures
* Participate in the build-out and deployment of new hardware
* Participate in the (12x7) on-call pager rotation
* Work closely with other System Administration, Site Operations and
network teams as well as remote members of the Production Engineering team 

Required skills:
* Strong Perl programming skills
* 2+ years experience with Linux
* 2+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX installations in a
tier 1 environment (ISP background a plus)
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* BS Computer Science and/or strong System Administration background
