Work in an Open Source (Linux) and Windows environment to develop a video player (MPEG4?) for an embedded networked display device (IPTV). If you have Java skills, as well, you will get to develop the Java version after the Perl version. Work is on site in SF (walking distance from both BART or Cal Train) Please no off shore teams or remote workers. This is for an individual only. Depending on your skill set, this could lead to long term or a full time employee (FTE) position Required skills: - 3 yrs + in Perl, - Demonstrated solid development skills - Able to work well on a team that does development in a high iterative style (ie: Agile) Desired skills: - Linux development experience strongly preferred - Distributed (networked) applications experience is desired - If you have developed a media player it's a plus (optional) Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/5123#contact
