Senior Perl Developer, London, UK

Litelogic Ltd is looking for a talented and experienced senior software
developer to work on Phase 2 of our “Litecast” Web-enabled digital
advertising. Working closely with the IT Development Manager, Product
Manager and a team of developers, you will have major responsibilities for
architectural design, technical specification and the further development
of Litecast. You will be very technically competent in Perl, Linux and
relational database design and have some experience with Catalyst Perl.
Ideally you will have played a key role in designing other large scale,
high volume Perl websites.

Key responsibilities: 
•	Lead a team of developers
•	Technical lead responsible for architectural design of databases
and software
•	Reports to CTO
•	Work with IT Development Manager and Product Management to help
design and realise the processes and technologies required in the new
sector of digital outdoor advertising
•	Produce technical designs and specifications
•	Identify and select or commission Open Source or commercial
software components
•	Technical support
•	Assist in recruitment and selection of development staff
•	Help define and implement best development practices
•	Provide training and guidance to junior team members
•	Estimate work and prepare progress reports


Required skills:
Requirements: 
•	Computing related degree or equivalent experience in an IT
development role (3 years)
•	Progressive experience through to senior development, team leading
and technical systems design
•	3+ years development using Perl and Linux
•	1 years experience in a team leading role
•	Understanding of the design requirements of a large scale high
volume website
•	Experience producing structured design and specification (e.g. UML,
E-R diagrams)
•	Exposure to Catalyst Perl framework
•	Familiarity with the Open Source community and in particular CPAN
(Comprehensive Perl Archive Network); ideally you will have released Open
Source modules there
