Posted: January 11, 2007 Job title: Technical support Company name: Top tier Investment Bank Location: England, London Pay rate: £500 per day Travel: 0-25% Terms of employment: Independent contractor (hourly) Length of employment: 6 Months Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: The Equities technology department requires a hands-on technical tester who can manage a complex Test Lab and execute sophisticated load and performance tests. The successful applicant will have a technical background and will work with multiple technologies and tools related to technical testing, particularly performance testing. They will use and develop test harnesses using Perl, Unix scripting and Java. They will possess strong technical knowledge of Windows and Unix. They will across many areas of Equities Front Office Technology, including: Cash, Program Trading, Algorithmic Trading and Client Connectivity. The successful candidate will require strong communication skills and directly report into Equities Technology Senior Management Team. They will also have the opportunity to assist in the management of offshore staff working on other QA initiatives Required skills: Knowledge, Skill, Experience Required: Ideally 3 years experience working with systems supporting the Front Office; with a proven track record of delivering technology change to Front Office users. Preferably working on the Equities side. Strong inter-personal skills Experience of full project lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing and deployment) Strong technical skills and systems knowledge. Load and Performance Testing ideally bespoke test harnesses. Desired skills: Beneficial: Royalblue Fidessa ISEB certified A background in application development (preferably on Equity Front Office applications) Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include: Liase with departments managers, business analysts and developers to elicit QA requirements Coordinating testing across multiple areas Writing and Reviewing Test Plans and Test Cases to Lehman standards Administrate a complex test environment, track and approve technical changes.
