Posted: January 11, 2007 Job title: Web Application / ModPerl Back-end Programmer Company name: Smart Marketing Internal ID: Web/ModPerl Location: United States, Georgia, Norcross Pay rate: Perm Travel: 0-25% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: some Description: The Back-end Programmer will primarily work on developing and maintaining Smart Marketings web application that'll support many thousands of users. You must communicate and document well in working directly with the IT Director in completing each set of tasks. Team-Oriented The key for all our programmers will be that they work for a common goal of creating a great suite of applications. As such, we want people that strive to make the team work well. Analytical The Back-end programmer needs to be able to solve the more difficult aspects of each of the applications being developed. In addition to being analytical, the programmer should enjoy solving difficult problems as that will be the crux of the position and what separates the high end developer from the low end developer. Reliable We need someone that we can count on to be on time and ready to go each day so that each day we can ensure that our primary intellectual developer is in house to help us create something great. Flexible Every day the primary task for the back end programmer will be likely to change as a new primary obstacle is found. As such, the candidate should enjoy positions where they have the opportunity to work on a variety of different issues. Focused Despite a frequently changing environment and task list, the candidate must be able to focus quickly and intently on the project currently at hand. Even though things may change in a day or two, it is very important that extreme focus is put on the project at hand. The candidate should be capable of focusing and refocusing quickly with numerous potential distractions. Required skills: Excellent ModPerl knowledge and at least 3 years professional experience with ModPerl Good understanding of web client-server protocols such as HTTP, XML/RPC etc Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills Ability to work well with existing code segments to produce advances and modifications.
