Description:
This position will support RAND's external web capabilities and computing
infrastructure. Works with web team to add new web capabilities and enhance
existing systems. Maintains web servers, web applications, and various web
scripts. Participates on project teams to expand web infrastructure and
revamp existing capabilities.

Required skills:
Educational requirements: BS/BA
 
Specific technical skills required: 
• 5 years experience in Computing Industry. 
• 3 years web application development experience with last 2 years focusing
on web application design and development in the
Linux/Apache/MySQL/Perl-PHP environment. 
• Firsthand understanding of mainstream web technologies and systems: 
  o Demonstrable experience developing a broad range of applications,
application interfaces and simple forms using the following languages and
scripts: Perl, PHP and related scripting languages. 
   o Experience in both server-side and client-side application
development. 
   o Proven experience linking Web applications to various backend
databases including MySQL and MS SQLServer. 
   o Good understanding of complete software life cycle and software
development practices.

given non-standard requirements. 
• Intuition, agility and creativity. 
• Good Communication and organizational skills. 
• Able to work comfortably with technical staff as well as business and

working under pressure. 
• Experience with Bricolage Web Content Management system is a plus.
