Description:
As our Software Engineer (Perl), you will: 

• Share responsibility and ownership of Shopzilla Inc’s product search
engine and indexing systems • Design and develop state-of-the-art solutions
to scale our massive product index of 50+ million products • Manage
critical data flows feeding directly into the core search engine and
external tools • Work closely with the operations team to diagnose and
provide solutions to issues arising on production services 

Required skills:
Your qualifications include: 

• 3+ years experience with Perl development on Unix and/or Linux platforms
• Strong Object Oriented Programming skills • Experience with SQL and
relational databases (Sybase ASE/Oracle a plus) • Highly motivated person
willing to work in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication skills
and the ability to work independently or with a small team • BS CS or
equivalent required, MS CS preferred 

Desired skills:
Additional (desired) skills: 

• Experience using C/C++ a strong plus • Experience using Subversion or
similar version control systems in a production environment a plus •
Experience with web technologies and best-practices a plus • Indexing,
distributed computing, and optimization experience highly desirable
