epublica GmbH is a small IT firm based in Hamburg, Germany. We specialize
in software development and technical solutions for a wide range of
clients. We focus on Web/CGI applications and have a long track record of
developing and maintaining online communities.

Current projects include XING, also known as the "Open Business Club",
Europe's leading social networking business site, "Edgar auf der Karte",
Germany's leading e-card service, and "wer-weiss-was.de", Germany's first
online communities for non-commercial experts' exchange.

epublica GmbH was founded in 2001 by four veteran web developers in
Hamburg. Our business is expanding and we now wish to find a new full-time
employee.

Please note: Knowledge of German is required and you must be willing to
work in Hamburg, Germany. We are not looking for outsourcing or
telecommuting offers.

Required skills:
Required skills:
- years of experience developing for Perl running with MySQL on Apache and
Linux
- basic system administration for Debian or Ubuntu Linux
- good skill in German and English
- good knowledge of HTML and Javascript
- some knowledge of other popular web technologies (such as PHP, Java, JSP,
Ruby, Python)
- experience with standard web applications, e.g. CMS, forums, shop systems

Desired skills:
Desired skills:
- experience with other Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat, Suse, Mandrake,
Gentoo, ...)
- experience with other flavours of Unix, other RDBMs, other computer
languages
- experience with Perl/FastCGI
- experience with graphics software and creativity for simple screendesign
tasks
- experience with development for the Windows API (we are primarily a Linux
company, though)
- experience with online communities
