Description:
Join the team responsible for the operation of Yahoo!'s sponsored search
back-end. You will contribute to both the administration of thousands of
Linux machines as well as the development of tools that automate their
deployment, management and monitoring.

The ideal candidate has strong Perl programming skills as well as an
extensive background in large-scale system administration.

This is a full time position located in Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities:

* Administer Linux clusters, monitor their health and performance
* Develop tools to automate the deployment, administration and monitoring
of a large-scale Linux environment
* Gain deep application-level knowledge of the sponsored search back-end
systems as well as contributing to their overall design
* Assist in the configuration/build-out of new deployments to facilitate
our constant growth
* Contribute to the documentation of our complex environment
* Participate in a 12x7 (daylight hours) on-call pager rotation

Required skills:
* Extensive system administration background
* Strong Perl programming skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills:
* 4+ years experience with Linux (RHEL a plus)
* 4+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX installations (ISP
background a plus)
* BS Computer Science
