Posted: February 5, 2007 Job title: PERL Programmer/Analysts with non-web experience Company name: U.S. Technical Services Internal ID: Zed01 Location: United States, CT, Shelton Pay rate: negotiable Terms of employment: Independent contractor (hourly) Length of employment: three months to a year Hours: Full time Onsite: some Description: Multiple PERL programmer/analysts needed to develop sophisticated PostScript document caching and print queuing system in health insurance sector. The project involves analysis of mainframe request data and pairing with resultant composed print output in PostScript, caching of PostScript documents, management and queuing of print requests, parsing of data and reporting on analysis. This is a full-time, 8+ week project with the potential for the right candidate(s)/team to become involved in longer term projects. Required skills: Three or more years of PERL programming in non-web environments working on large, standalone, PERL projects demonstrating teamwork and the ability to grok "systems" and see the "big picture" in processes. Demonstrated abilities with DBI, modular and object oriented coding, and record parsing. Familiarity with PostScript, XML, and tagged markup languages such as TeX or SGML. Experience working with code management systems such as CVS, Subversion and Trac. The candidate must possess good verbal and written communications skills and be "action-oriented" Candidates must be U.S. citizens, be able to work from or travel to (expenses paid) Southern Connecticut (Bridgeport / New Haven area) for on-site duties, meetings and other activities as needed, working as either a 1099 employee or under contract, and pass a background check.
