Junior SysAdmin and Perl dev Class::DBI mod_perl

Pay rate: 22000 GBP pa

Terms of employment: Salaried employee

Hours: Full time

Description:
Help with School Database Development (Perl, Class::DBI, TT with  MySQL)
Updating and development of School's Website.
Maintenance and development of School's computer network including wiring.
Help with Computer Classrooms installations (20 computers in each
classroom).
Hardware and Software support (350 computers, 20 projectors, 5
touchscreens). 
Assisting teaching and office staff with software and hardware issues.
Write comprehensive documentation (includes correct inline code comments).
Monitor stability and performance.


Required skills:
 At least 4 years FreeBSD Unix administration experience.
       High level of Programming/scripting skills: Perl5 CGI, Class::DBI,
mod_perl2
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
       Experience with following:
	       - MTA Postfix and Curier with MySQL password backend
	       - SAMBA PDC, Windows NT Domain and Windows Active Directory
	       - Common UNIX Printing System
	       - Apache2 with mod_perl2
- MySQL and OpenLDAP, some experience with M$ Access97 would be
benefit but not essential.
- W3 cache  Squid
- Windows XP, Debian GNU Linux
Strong communication skills; desire to work as part of a team.

Desired skills:
creating PDF files using templates and data fetched from database
GD and Image::Magic
knowledge what is MVC
Win32, admin misc and logon scripts
some small knowledge about VBS and VBA
