architecture overview?

I'm evaluating kwiki as a possible code base for a substantial social
software project. I've been reading the code and kwiki.org, but as I'm
not familiar with Spiffy or Spoon (and am just lowly perl hacker), I was
wondering/hoping/wishfully dreaming that someone might be able to point
me to a nice architecture overview.
