Let me know if you want help!  E.g. you could apply the patch to
the repo, increment the version number etc, and I'll test with MSVC
on a number of platforms (just give me list which ones you want
tested).  If everything passes you can do a release.

Of course you may prefer to keep this bug as an incentive to get
the laptop set up quickly. :)
