Did you do any updating of your perl modules before taking the security update? cf <http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/16/apple_update_perl_breakage/> and <http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/03/23/apple_perl_breakage_apology/> the simple solution is to download and re-install the the modules that appear to be broken. In this case Compress::Zlib - do this until you have a working CPAN, and at that point you can work with cpan again to re-install any of the modules that you have added.
