Stand-alone Perl Applications?

Hi all,

Near-total MacPerl newbie here. Is it possible to compile a script into a
stand-alone application? While making droplets is great, Perl still needs to
open for them to run, and I was looking for a way to make stand-alone
applications with MacPerl. Is it possible, and if so, is there a
web-tutorial I can read about this?
