Hm ...? That's odd. I cannot reproduce this error and I cannot find an error in F::S::Mac.pm, no matter if I run the test on a separate volume or not (this shouldn't matter anyway). Will you please do me a favour? I've attached a slightly changed debugging version of Mac.pm, which produces some trace output for Mac->abs2rel(). Can you please run the test again and send me the output for the test # 353 (or better yet, the output of all abs2rel() calls). Here's what I would expect for test # 353:

+++
pathchunks:
--

basechunks:
-d1-
-d2-

pathchunks after compare:
--

basechunks after compare:
-d1-
-d2-

pathdirs=  -:-
basedirs=  -:::-
ok 353 # Mac->abs2rel('hd:','hd:d1:d2:')

Many thanks.
