Chris, is it possible to add a preference to MacPerl for "Default File
type and creator for files created with MacPerl"? And have some way to
override this with a MacPerl-specific config option in the script,
perhaps?

I can envision one or both text boxes with a "same as" button that you
could concievably use to navigate to a file and have the app get the
type or creator that way.

If this meets with approval I could add it to the Feature Request
section.
