At first I was excited to learn that, but now I'm trying to figure out how I'd use that when I want to run a Makefile.PL (or 100k of them) that I don't want to edit. Maybe I could still wrap WriteMakefile and inspect the return value, but still let it do its business. Looking back to Alberto's problem, my solution probably won't work anyway.
