Only MIDI type 0?

Hi list,

Sorry if this is a frequently asked question on this list, but I couldn't 
find an answer in the archives.  I'm trying to write a perl script that 
will take any old MIDI file and convert it into a weird proprietary format 
the details of which (believe me) you wouldn't want to hear.  MIDI-PERL 
looks great, but the limitation of reading in only type 0 (single track) 
MIDI files throws a monkey wrench in the proverbial gears (for my purposes, 
anyway).

Are there any plans to allow the reading in of multi-channel MIDI files 
soon?  Is this a modification that would be easy or possible to make?
