I just uploaded Moose 0.16 to CPAN (you can get it here https:// 
pause.perl.org/incoming/Moose-0.16.tar.gz) it has a few very simple  
improvements to the way it handles the BUILD and DEMOLISH methods,  
and people are seeing almost a 2x performance boost. Please download  
it and give it a try against your benchmark, and let me know what you  
see.
