IBM Unix System Services developement is going to look into changing the 
output of the uname command to z/OS instead of OS/390.  No promises were 
made.

I would like the default output of the "uname" command to display z/OS
instead of OS/390.  This will help with the porting of perl 5.21.  If
this change is not made the latest Perl will display the incorrect
operating system.  OS/390 reached end of life 10 years ago.  I think It
is time to change.  "uname" and "uname -a" should display z/OS not
OS/390.  Using the non-standard "uname -I" to display z/OS would require
many changes to the Perl language.
