I don't have authority at my installation, otherwise it would be

I've worked with z/OS USS for many years. I am a systems tools developer
for over 20 years on the platform, almost 40 total. Assembler is my
strength, but I have extensive experience with C in the systems context.
Even though I don't have immediate access, I have an interest in keeping
perl alive on EBCDIC platforms (it appears that BS2000/OSD no longer is
actively supported or used).
