Point this poor neophyte in the right direction

I'm interested in writing open source business software (accounting,
distribution, manufacturing) in Perl.  My problem is I've been developing in
a version of business basic called BBx (www.basis.com) and so even though I
have designed and implemented large systems I have no experience in what
people would normally call enterprise development (e.g., J2EE, .NET, COBRA,
etc.)

From what I can see P5EE is geared towards people who understand traditional
enterprise development and who want to translate this into Perl.  Where
should I start?  I don't really want to learn about other platforms if this
isn't going to help my Perl programming goal.

I'd describe my Perl programming ability as early advanced (to use a piano
playing term).  I've written several Perl modules using OO that I use in
scripts to help with the business basic development, but none of them use
any "black magic" and the internals of Perl are a mystery to me.

Can you point me in the right direction?  Should I study some other platform
first?  Buy and book?  Go to a web site?
