p5ee or j2ee or .Net

I am new to the list - and have not had as much time to do
the background reading as I would prefer - so I thought if
there were some guidance to a person who knows how to programme
in perl - why I would want to support p5ee over j2ee/jini or
go with .Net - my primary concerns are

	a) maintenance of the software
	b) performance of the software

with a core interest in OLTP systems. Stephen Adkin's core
argument for supporting backwards to 5.5.3 provides me with
his the common understanding that 'Enterprise Systems' are
not always interested in the 'fork lift upgrade' to new
hardware - which gives me a modecum of hope for the p5ee effort.
