Given that it has been asked about early on, and given that it is a topic
of interest, I suspect it would be chosen. And if not, I suppose we can
always gate crash another BoF. Or more seriously go someplace else in the
geographical area to hold it.
This could be as informal as skipping out on the delicious box lunch one
day and taking over one of the speaker rooms to talk about P5EE. There's
usually empty areas to be found somewhere at sometime in a conference.
Although the makeup this year might be "different" if the conference is
smaller. Last year the conference was really huge, and although it is in
the same place, that doesn't guarantee that they chose to rent out the same
# of speaker rooms as last year.
I've never seen conference calling facilities in a BoF room though as it
would entail having an active phone line (who would pay for it?). Maybe a
VoIP would be a better way as they are almost guaranteed to have WLAN. I
don't experience with VoIP and when I have, the quality has sucked, so I
suspect it wouldn't work as well as we would like.
Anyway, the BoF is an excellent idea in any case. So is the conference
call if Stephen can't make it -- although that may be a harder one to work out.
