+1 for kicking version number to 2.0.0
-9999 for using a MARC::Record2 or something like that.

It seems to me that the API didn't changed, there are only some nice new 
features (including some UNIMARC specific ones, that we've tested & used 
daily), that makes a +1 versionning a good idea.
