I occasionally redirect filehandles in Perl, but only
STDOUT, STDERR and STDIN.  And I only do it once a
script.  Open already does exactly what is needed.  I
think that changing the syntax in this way is
overkill.  But if it's a pragma, and if I can still
use open, I guess its no skin off my nose.
