You can put in the /etc/environment file the line:

GSK_RENDERER=gl
or
GSK_RENDERER=ngl

and logout and login or reboot the system. This is due to a Vulkan 
problem, that's a temporary workaround, in the future when that's fixed 
you'd want to remove that line
