"Why this, why now, why here": almost a month ago, I got permanently=20
banned from the Raku community - almost like my former 2-year suspension=20
got extended for eternity. One may wonder what could be the sort of=20
criminal or severely destructive activity that led to this - but most=20
people won't even wonder because the whole thing was barely announced,=20
mostly just handled "in discretion", as if it was just paper work for=20
moderation. Now, this obviously meant that I became unable not only to=20
defend or object but to even share my own perspective after the fact so=20
I sat back, looked into whatever seemed important for the actual=20
community and tried to give account with the background as well, and=20
figured out which channels might serve my goal: to reach out to the=20
actual community, to have them informed at least, even if nothing really=20
happens with regards to my future. Communication with the people who=20
created this situation in the first place seems pointless, impossible=20
even, because for a long time their position has been "whatever happens,=20
it's your fault, do better or get out" - there is nothing we could talk=20
about, I just hope I was more fair and on-topic with my criticism and=20
giving account of certain situations. It's also a non-goal to reach out=20
with a fairly specific and boring story to wider publicity and try to=20
get outsiders banter Raku yet again - I'm not very worried about this=20
because I think they simply won't care but since I don't have many=20
options to target the community at large, to some extent I will push=20
into places where I see a decent chance to reach to people actually=20
interested or involved.
As for myself: I still haven't made up my mind, honestly. =F0=9F=98=85 Ther=
e are=20
informal Raku spaces where I like to hang out but it doesn't necessarily=20
make sense to keep an eye on the project if I cannot contribute and it=20
doesn't seem to go in any good direction. It's possible that I will try=20
to use this emotional momentum to finish some old stuff off, or write=20
some more technical articles about specific problems - this is more a=20
disclaimer that if it happens, that doesn't mean that I changed my mind=20
or something, it's not that I feel inclined to.
Anyway, I think to make things fair, "the community" (especially the=20
self-proclaimed community ie. those 5-10 people mostly around the RSC)=20
still owed me this chance. Now the bill is settled. Farewell
