$Date$ sucks !
Precisely because $Date$ substitution by svn checkout is locale
dependent (although it doesn't use the encoding os the current locale
for some reason).
For example :
-perlfaq1 - General Questions About Perl ($Revision: 1.19 $, $Date: 2005/12/31 00:54:37 $)
+perlfaq1 - General Questions About Perl ($Revision: 2924 $, $Date: 2006-02-21 22:38:56 +0100 (mar, 21 fév 2006) $)
And moreover, this introduction line gets a big long for a manual page.
So, maybe can we use $Id$ instead, it's shorter and has date and
revision info. And maybe move it out of "=head1 NAME".
Side question -- do I have commit access to this part of the svn repos ?
