Nothing... it's just one more language that I wanted to know a bit about
and apart from playing with it one day, following this list is useful. I
see apps writen in perl occasionally and it is useful to be able to grasp
how they work... 

Personally I'm more a Rexx person, having used that night & day at work
so I'm beginning to experiment with the "Regina" Rexx port that David
Mullard has been working on (www.mullard.net).
