That's a great idea.  I try to make a note on the back when I get
someone else's card, but I rarely write on my own cards when I'm giving
them out.

BTW, my main marketing tool is an electronic newsletter that I send out
every two months.  The marketing is kept very low-key, and the main
feature is a technical article.  I try to present myself as someone who
has useful information.  Whenever I get a business card, I ask if I can
add them to my newsletter mailing list, and they almost always say yes
(it's easy to unsubscribe, after all).  Then they get reminded six times
a year that I exist.
