A very good point.  I'm not a member of those communities, so it didn't 
occur to me.

The actual BOF listing at 
http://conferences.oreillynet.com/pub/w/15/bof.html mentions Perl 
several times, so I think I'll take this as a suggestion for next year, thanks.
