As close as it can get to "full time", I do, when I'm not writing one
of my 2.5 monthly columns, hacking out new O'Reilly book text, or
managing the herd at Stonehenge, or answering Usenet questions. I'm
also pulling in the occasional engineering contract from time to time
to keep my skills and concerns "in the trench" -- essential to keep
the material fresh and my demand high.

I find that my ability to be excellent in front of the room decreases
if the number of classroom days per month exceeds about 10, so I limit
myself to that. Tom Phoenix can push it to about 15 or so, but we try
not to do that too often to him (hi Tom!).

By the way, is anyone archiving this list? It'd be nice to view
it historically. I've already been expiring old messages, so I don't
have a record.
