First of all, a disclaimer:
I am new to the world of PERL.  Also, since our layoffs, I am the defacto 
System Manager for our OpenVMS Alphas running V8.3.

We currently have PERL version 5.10 running.

Now I am being asked to install "perl_mod" which is apparently not there in 
our PERL version 5.10.

Does this mean that I have to reinstall PERL V5.10 again from scratch?

What else do you need to know from me to be able to answer my question.
