there most probably is such a mechanism, buried deep in the perl script that transforms a
file describing the dynamically loadable PMC (polymorphic container, i.e. Parrot object)
into C code and a header file. But I haven't descended deep enough into the class
hierarchy of the modules included to find the right spot.

I have now subscribed to the parrot-dev mailing list and asked my question there.

If parrot has been ported to Microsoft Windows, there should be a 
procedure that extracts the symbol names for creating the DLLs.
