Popup windows don't receive mouse messages when created from Wx::Dialog parents.

Hi,

I've got a problem pretty much as stated in the subject. By "Popup windows", I mean classes derived from Wx::PopupWindow.

I've got a couple of standard classes including a calendar and predictive text list that popup automatically from Wx::TextCtrl windows when certain keystrokes are pressed. The popup window then handles keyboard and mouse events until dismissed.

When the TextCtrl windows are placed on normal windows, everything works fine.

When they're placed on Wx::Dialog windows, the popup appears normally and keyboard handling is fine but no mouse events whatsoever are received.

Creating a complete example would be kind of lengthy; I'm hoping someone might have seen this previously and be able to say "Fix it like this" or even "Yep, you're boned".

Big, big caveat; we're running on wx 2.8.12. (Yes, I know, and I'm trying to get us moved up.) OS is Ubuntu 14.04.

Thanks for any help.
