Can't compile Wx.pm

I running Linux Mint 22.2 Zara, Perl v5.42.0, and wxWidgets 3.2.4.0. 
When I try to load Wx.pm `cpanm Wx`, I get:

No such 'link' library: 'adv' at 
/home/$USER/.cpanm/work/1760454375.25215/Wx-0.9932/build/Wx/build/MakeMaker.pm 
line 212.

After some digging around I found this webpage that has patches for the 
Makefiles. I think it removes all occurances of "adv". Wx.pm error -

I don't want to use it since an update of Wx would replace the 
Makefiles. Does anyone know a solution to this?
