It was much easier in the old days. In my home town of Ilkeston the 
saying was that if you put a donkey on the market place it would get a 
huge majority of votes provided it had a red ribbon round it's neck. For 
a couple of decades the donkey's name was Raymond Fletcher and he was 
revealed to be a Russian spy  after the Cold War.

I shall be voting for what, at the moment, is considered a smaller party 
who (as in the last election) failed to get anything like their true 
number of seats because of our totally undemocratic first-past-the-post 
voting system.
